How to verify your product is authentic

Check the EDA notification

Cosmetics sold in Egypt require notification with the Egyptian Drug Authority. Ask for the notification number and confirm it matches the product name and brand.

Read the batch number and expiry

Look for the batch/lot number and expiry date printed on the container itself, not only on an outer sticker. Matching numbers on the unit and the carton is a good sign.

Inspect the packaging

Intact seals, clean printing and unbroken tamper-evidence are the basics. Differences in typeface, color or print quality are worth pausing over.
